Taja Colbert emerged as one of the top guards in the Mid-Penn last season, and now she has another college offer to show for it.

The Bishop McDevitt senior said Monday that she picked up an offer from Shippensburg. She said she was also offered an opportunity to play at St. Peter’s University as a sophomore.

“It felt so good,” Colbert said. “My first offer was D1 from St. Peter’s, and I was so young that I didn’t really appreciate it and understand it all. Now, with the pandemic making everything so uncertain my appreciation level is so, so high! I feel happy, excited and a sense of hope, not only for me, but for other athletes as well.”

Colbert was a first-team Keystone Division All-Star pick by the conference’s coaches last season after averaging 14.9 points with three steals and two assists per game.
