In early November, basketball teams from across the Mid-Penn Conference attended PennLive’s winter high school sports media day.

In conjunction with that event, PennLive has asked the boys and girls coaches from each of the four divisions – Commonwealth, Keystone, Capital and Colonial – to make their predictions for the order of finish for their respective division. The coaches have also made their picks for divisional MVPs.

Here’s a look at the voting conducted by the Keystone division girls basketball coaches.

Last year Lower Dauphin won the Keystone division title and won a PIAA Class 5A tournament game. Palmyra won a state tournament game in Class 5A, too.

Bishop McDevitt advanced to the PIAA Class 4A quarterfinals and Cedar Cliff made the PIAA Class 6A tournament.

8. Red Land
7. Hershey
6. Susquehanna Twp.
5. Cedar Cliff
4. Lower Dauphin
3. Mechanicsburg
2. Palmyra

1. Bishop McDevitt

Coach: Kevin Dupes

Key players: Olivia Fasick, senior, guard; Treasure George, senior, guard/forward; Jasmine Chisholm, senior, guard; Alexia Thomas, senior, forward; Miranda Keller, sophomore, center; Kylie Johnson, junior, guard/forward; Liz Staub, junior, guard/forward; Diana Mosten, sophomore, guard; Brigid Fuller, sophomore, center

Buzz: There’s a new, old face at Bishop McDevitt as Dupes, who coached the Crusaders from 2002-06, is back on the bench. Dupes (67-39 record at McDevitt) replaced Hall of Famer Joe Bressi who resigned in March. Dupes inherits a deep, talented roster full of holdovers from last year’s squad that won 18 games and advanced to the PIAA Class 4A quarterfinals. McDevitt’s top five scorers are all back. Fasick, an all-state pick a year ago, is one of the district’s top two-way players. George (10 ppg), a Shippensburg University signee, gets the tough buckets. Chisholm (8 ppg), Keller (6 ppg) and Thomas (5 ppg) can all chip in offensively. This team is primed for another deep playoff run.
